My Morning Routine

It’s 6:30am and my internal alarm has gone off. (I haven’t set an alarm in YEARS) I roll over to search in the dark for either my phone or my laptop (I know that one of the two are within close proximity because I was working or researching the night before)…BOOM my laptop…in a bright black and white hue “PDM PaperDecorMore” lights up the screen and I peer into the upper right hand corner…ok 6:32am. This is my normal wake up routine. Followed by reading, starting breakfast, waking up my daughter, and completing a quick 5 minute meditation.

We recently started eating breakfast on the way to school to ensure we are ALWAYS on time, so as I pour the syrup in the to go container for breakfast and throw the wafer cookies into the recyclable baggie for lunch…we are ready to head out the door. On the way to school every morning we listen to gospel and in my opinion it’s IMPORTANT to start the day on a HIGH spiritual note. This is something that began when I attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida as one of the local radio stations played Gospel every morning, so on my commute to my Exercise Science classes (I needed all the worship and praise ever) I would SING and WORSHIP at the top of my lungs.

After kisses and I love You…I’ve set my child off for a blessed day. With school drop off complete I try to get in at least 45 min of a workout then shower before starting the actual day. It’s so hard and has been a constant challenge of mine to stick to business hours while working but on the “grind” what are the business hours?! It’s 10am and I’m now ready to start my business day. First let’s review the to-do list I wrote the night before to ensure my mind was on track…broken down into categories…Personal…PDM…Real Estate.

I always put personal first for me because if I’m not well mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally nothing that follows will be worth while.
